How to choose a high vacuum muffle furnace?

06-10-2025       Author: KJ technology

When choosing a high vacuum muffle furnace, comprehensive considerations can be made from temperature, furnace size, furnace material, vacuum degree, control system, heating elements, safety, brand, and after-sales service. The following is a specific introduction:

1. Temperature: The maximum temperature of the muffle furnace should be selected based on the actual operating temperature. Generally speaking, the maximum temperature of a muffle furnace is 100-200 ℃ higher than the actual operating temperature. For example, if you need to use 1600 ℃ for a long time, you need to choose a muffle furnace at 1700 ℃.

2. Furnace size: Select the appropriate furnace size based on the weight and volume of the sample to be fired. The furnace volume is generally more than three times the total volume of the sample, which is the most suitable.

3. Furnace material: Common furnace materials include fiber material and refractory brick material. Fiber material is lightweight, soft in texture, and provides good insulation; The insulation of refractory brick material is generally good. You can choose according to your own needs.

4. Vacuum degree: Clearly define the requirements for vacuum degree in experiments or production, and select a muffle furnace that can achieve the corresponding vacuum degree index. Generally speaking, a high vacuum muffle furnace can achieve a vacuum degree of 10 ^ -3 Pa or higher.

5. Control system: A control system with precise temperature control and multiple program control parameters should be selected, preferably with automation control function, which can achieve remote control and automated experiments. At the same time, attention should be paid to indicators such as temperature control accuracy, stability, and ease of operation.

6. Heating element: Select the appropriate heating element according to the different requirements of the fired sample. Generally, resistance wires are used for temperatures below 1200 ℃, silicon carbon rods are mostly used for temperatures between 1300-1400 ℃, and silicon molybdenum rods are mostly used for temperatures between 1400-1700 ℃.

7. Safety: Check if the muffle furnace is equipped with safety measures such as overheating protection, leakage protection, emergency stop, etc., to ensure the safety of operators and equipment.

8. Brand and after-sales service: Choose a brand with good qualifications and reputation, understand the manufacturer's after-sales service system, including maintenance, spare parts supply, etc., to ensure smooth subsequent use.
