Daily maintenance of nitrogen atmosphere positive air muffle furnace

06-04-2025       Author: KJ technology

The nitrogen atmosphere vacuum muffle furnace is an important equipment for high-temperature material treatment. To ensure its stable performance and extend its service life, daily maintenance is crucial. The following introduces it from the aspects of cleaning, component inspection, and operation status monitoring:

Furnace body and furnace cleaning

Exterior of the furnace: Use a clean, soft, damp cloth to wipe the exterior of the furnace to remove dust, stains, and oil stains from the surface. For stubborn stains, mild cleaning agents can be used appropriately, but care should be taken to avoid the cleaning agent entering the interior of the furnace or damaging the surface coating of the furnace. After wiping, dry with a dry cloth to prevent moisture residue.

Inside the furnace: After each use, wait for the furnace to cool to a safe temperature and use a vacuum cleaner or soft bristled brush to remove any residue, such as powder, debris, etc., from the furnace. For stubborn stains that are difficult to remove, a non-metallic shovel or scraper can be used to carefully scrape them off, but avoid scratching the inner wall of the furnace. Regularly wipe the inner wall of the furnace with organic solvents such as anhydrous ethanol or acetone to remove grease and organic pollutants, and then dry it with a dry cloth.

Component inspection and maintenance

Heating element: Regularly inspect the appearance of the heating element to see if there are any signs of breakage, deformation, erosion, etc. If the heating element is found to be damaged, it should be replaced in a timely manner. When replacing, ensure that the specifications and models of the new heating element are consistent with the original equipment.

Thermocouple: Check whether the connection of the thermocouple is firm, whether there is looseness or poor contact. Use a multimeter to check the resistance value of the thermocouple and determine if it is normal. If the thermocouple is damaged, it is necessary to replace it with a thermocouple of the same specification, and pay attention to the installation position and insertion depth to ensure accurate measurement.

Vacuum pump: Regularly check the oil level of the vacuum pump to ensure that the oil level is within the normal range. If the oil level is too low, appropriate vacuum pump oil should be added in a timely manner. At the same time, observe the color and transparency of the vacuum pump oil. If the oil becomes black, turbid, or has impurities, it should be replaced with new oil. Check whether the belt of the vacuum pump is loose or worn. If necessary, adjust the belt tension or replace the belt.

Sealing components: Check whether the sealing components of furnace doors, observation windows, and other parts are aging, deformed, or damaged. If any problems are found with the seals, they should be replaced in a timely manner to ensure the sealing of the furnace. When replacing seals, choose seals that match the original equipment specifications and ensure correct installation.

Gas pipeline: Check whether the connection of nitrogen and other gas pipelines is tight and whether there is any leakage. You can apply soapy water to the pipeline connection and observe whether there are bubbles to determine if there is a leak. If air leakage is found, the connecting components should be tightened or the sealing gasket should be replaced. Regularly clean impurities and dirt in the gas pipeline to keep it unobstructed.

Running status monitoring

Temperature control: Regularly calibrate the temperature controller to ensure accurate temperature display. During the operation of the equipment, closely observe the temperature changes. If abnormal temperature fluctuations or inability to reach the set temperature are found, timely check whether the heating elements, thermocouples and other components are working properly.

Vacuum degree: Before each use, check the operation of the vacuum pump to ensure that it can evacuate normally. Use a vacuum gauge to monitor the vacuum level inside the furnace. If the vacuum level does not meet the requirements, the vacuum system should be checked for leaks, decreased performance of the vacuum pump, and other issues, and timely maintenance and treatment should be carried out.

Pressure control: If the equipment is equipped with a pressure control system, the working status of the pressure sensor and pressure regulating valve should be regularly checked to ensure accurate pressure control. During use, pay attention to observing pressure changes to prevent damage to the equipment caused by excessive or insufficient pressure.

Electrical system inspection

Power line: Regularly check the connection of the power line for firmness, looseness, damage, or aging. If any problems are found in the power supply circuit, they should be replaced or repaired in a timely manner to prevent safety accidents such as leakage and short circuit.

Control cabinet: Keep the interior of the control cabinet clean and regularly clean dust and debris. Check the electrical components inside the control cabinet, such as contactors, relays, circuit breakers, etc., for any signs of burning, damage, or poor contact. If any problems are found, damaged electrical components should be replaced in a timely manner.

Record and Archive

Establish maintenance records: After each maintenance, record in detail the time, content, problems discovered, and handling situation of the maintenance. Maintenance records help track the operational status and maintenance history of equipment, providing reference for subsequent maintenance and repairs.

Archive related materials: Archive and manage equipment manuals, repair manuals, maintenance records, and other related materials for easy access at any time.
