What materials can be sintered in a nitrogen atmosphere vacuum sintering furnace?

The nitrogen atmosphere vacuum sintering furnace can sinter various materials, as follows:

Ceramic material

Aluminum nitride ceramics: The nitrogen atmosphere vacuum sintering furnace is a key equipment for preparing nitride materials such as aluminum nitride (AlN). During the sintering process, the furnace is filled with nitrogen to prevent the material from reacting with oxygen at high temperatures, ensuring that oxidation does not occur during the sintering process. During sintering, sintering aids such as Y ₂ O ∝, CaO, Li ₂ O, etc. are usually added to reduce the sintering temperature and increase the density and thermal conductivity of the sintered body, thereby obtaining dense high-performance aluminum nitride ceramics that meet the application needs of electronics, optoelectronics, and other fields.

Silicon nitride ceramics: Non oxide ceramics such as silicon nitride must be sintered in nitrogen and inert gases. A nitrogen atmosphere vacuum sintering furnace provides a suitable environment for sintering, which helps to prepare high-performance silicon nitride ceramic products.

Other ceramic materials, such as fine ceramic components such as alumina and zirconia, are also suitable for the integrated process of degreasing and sintering in a nitrogen atmosphere vacuum sintering furnace.

Metallic materials

Carbon steel and low-alloy steel parts: The chemical reaction between nitrogen based atmosphere and green compact is easier to control than incomplete combustion of hydrocarbon compound gases. Nitrogen atmosphere vacuum sintering furnace is commonly used for sintering carbon steel and low-alloy steel parts, which can improve the density and mechanical properties of the parts.

Austenitic iron-based materials: In a nitrogen rich atmosphere, such as decomposing ammonia, when sintering a compact composed of typical austenitic iron-based materials, the matrix can dissolve a certain amount of nitrogen to form a solid solution of nitrogen. The nitrogen in the austenitic solid solution can improve the strength of the compact.

Hard alloy and other composite materials

Hard alloy: Nitrogen atmosphere vacuum sintering furnace can be used for high-temperature sintering of hard alloy in vacuum or protective atmosphere, which helps to improve the performance and quality of hard alloy.

Ceramic metal composite materials: can meet the sintering needs of high-end materials such as ceramic metal composite materials, by sintering material powders into dense block materials at high temperatures, thereby improving the density, hardness, strength, and wear resistance of the materials.
