What is the typical temperature for a vacuum annealing heat treatment furnace?

05-15-2025       Author: KJ technology

The temperature range of a vacuum annealing furnace is relatively wide, and it can usually be adjusted within three intervals: low temperature (200 ℃ -650 ℃), medium temperature (650 ℃ -1000 ℃), and high temperature (above 1000 ℃) according to specific process requirements. The following is a specific analysis:

Low temperature range

Temperature range: generally up to around 200 ℃ to 650 ℃.

Application scenario: Suitable for processes with relatively low requirements for material properties, or where the material itself can achieve the expected annealing effect at lower temperatures. For example, softening annealing and stress relief annealing of certain non-ferrous metals. Within this temperature range, it is possible to effectively reduce the hardness of the material, improve its plasticity and toughness, while avoiding oxidation or other adverse chemical reactions caused by excessive temperature.

Medium temperature range

Temperature range: usually between 650 ℃ and 1000 ℃.

Application scenario: It is a commonly used temperature range for vacuum annealing furnaces. Many metal materials, such as stainless steel and alloy steel, can achieve ideal microstructure and properties by annealing within this temperature range. For example, annealing stainless steel at around 800 ℃ -900 ℃ can eliminate work hardening and restore its good corrosion resistance and mechanical properties.

High temperature range

Temperature range: can reach over 1000 ℃, even up to around 2000 ℃ (depending on the design of the furnace and the temperature resistance of the heating elements).

Application scenario: Mainly used for processes that require extremely high material performance or special organizational structures. For example, annealing treatment of high-temperature alloys, ceramic materials, etc. At high temperatures, the atomic diffusion ability inside the material is enhanced, which can more thoroughly eliminate internal defects, improve the material's microstructure, and enhance its high-temperature strength, creep performance, etc.
