What is the sintering temperature range of a metal material sintering furnace?

06-20-2025       Author: KJ technology

The sintering temperature range of a metal material sintering furnace is usually between 500 ℃ and 2400 ℃, depending on the material type and process requirements.

1. Low temperature sintering: 500 ℃ -1000 ℃

Suitable for sintering materials with relatively low temperature requirements, such as polymer materials and low-temperature ceramic materials. For example, the sintering of some plastic based composite materials can be completed at around 500 ℃ -800 ℃, which can improve the density and mechanical properties of the material.

2. Conventional metal material sintering: 1000 ℃ -1500 ℃

This is a commonly used temperature range for industrial high-temperature sintering furnaces, and many metal materials are sintered within this range. For example:

The sintering temperature of iron-based powder products is generally around 1120-1200 ℃.

The sintering temperature of stainless steel powder products is usually between 1200-1350 ℃.

The sintering temperature of titanium alloy products is usually between 1300-1500 ℃.

Ordinary metal powder metallurgy products can undergo diffusion and fusion between metal powder particles through high-temperature sintering at 1000 ℃ -1300 ℃, forming a dense metal structure and improving the strength and hardness of the material.

3. High temperature sintering: 1500 ℃ -1800 ℃

Mainly used for sintering materials with high temperature resistance requirements, such as high-performance ceramics, special alloys, etc. For example:

High performance ceramic materials such as silicon carbide ceramics and zirconia ceramics need to be sintered at high temperatures ranging from 1600 ℃ to 1800 ℃ to obtain their high-temperature mechanical properties, chemical stability, and thermal conductivity.

4. Ultra high temperature sintering: exceeding 1800 ℃, up to 2400 ℃

In some special cases, through special design and material selection, the temperature of industrial high-temperature sintering furnaces can exceed 1800 ℃, which is used for the research and preparation of ultra-high temperature materials. For example, the working temperature range of a vacuum high-temperature sintering furnace is 1600 ℃ to 2400 ℃, which can meet the sintering needs of different materials under different environmental conditions.
