The following are the usage methods and precautions for the box type vacuum muffle furnace:

Preparation

Check whether the equipment is intact, including whether the furnace door seal is good, whether the vacuum pump is normal, and whether the temperature control system is accurate.

According to the experimental requirements, prepare the required samples and place them in a suitable crucible or fixture.

Ensure that the work area is clean and tidy, with no flammable or explosive materials.

Feed

Open the furnace door and carefully place the crucible or fixture containing the sample into the furnace, taking care not to collide with the heating element and furnace wall.

Adjust the position of the sample in the furnace as needed to ensure uniform heating.

Vacuum pumping

Close the furnace door, start the vacuum pump, and begin vacuuming. Observe the change in vacuum level until the required vacuum level for the experiment is reached.

During the vacuum pumping process, pay attention to checking whether there is any air leakage in the system. If there is any air leakage, it should be promptly searched and the fault should be eliminated.

Set temperature program

According to the experimental requirements, set parameters such as heating rate, holding time, and cooling method on the temperature control system.

After confirming that the temperature setting is correct, start the heating program and start heating up.

Operation Monitoring

During the heating process, closely monitor the temperature changes and the stability of the vacuum degree. If there is any abnormality, corresponding measures should be taken in a timely manner, such as stopping heating, checking equipment, etc.

Record the changes in parameters such as temperature and vacuum degree for subsequent analysis of experimental results.

Cool out of the furnace

After reaching the set insulation time, cool down according to the preset cooling method. In general, natural cooling or rapid cooling (such as passing cooling water) can be used.

When the furnace temperature drops below room temperature or safe temperature, turn off the vacuum pump, slowly open the furnace door, and take out the sample. Be careful to prevent burns and sample oxidation.

Safe operation

Operators should receive professional training and be familiar with the operating procedures and safety precautions of the equipment.

During the operation, personal protective equipment such as protective gloves and goggles must be worn to prevent burns and other accidental injuries.

It is strictly prohibited to place flammable, explosive, and volatile materials inside the furnace to avoid explosion or fire accidents.

Equipment maintenance

Regularly check the oil level and quality of the vacuum pump, and replace the lubricating oil in a timely manner to ensure the normal operation of the vacuum pump.

Check the wear of the furnace door seal, and replace it promptly if there is any wear to ensure the vacuum level inside the furnace.

Regularly clean the furnace and heating elements, remove dust and impurities, prevent affecting the heating effect and causing short circuits.

Temperature control

Strictly follow the temperature range and accuracy requirements of the equipment for operation, and do not use it at excessive temperatures to avoid damaging the equipment and affecting the experimental results.

When setting the temperature program, the heating rate and holding time should be reasonably selected based on the characteristics of the sample and experimental requirements to avoid adverse effects on the sample caused by excessively high or low temperatures.

Vacuum system

Keep the vacuum system clean and dry, avoiding dust, water vapor, etc. from entering the system and affecting the vacuum degree.

During the vacuum pumping process, if it is found that the vacuum degree cannot meet the requirements, the cause should be promptly investigated, which may be system leakage, vacuum pump failure, or vacuum valve not closing properly.

It is strictly prohibited to open the furnace door in a vacuum state to avoid safety accidents and equipment damage.

Sample processing

Before placing the sample in the furnace, it should be pre treated, such as cleaning, drying, etc., to remove impurities and moisture.

For samples that are prone to oxidation or reaction with air, they should be treated under vacuum or protective atmosphere to prevent sample deterioration.

When placing the sample, be careful not to come into direct contact with the heating element to avoid local overheating and sample damage.
